You might think that’s a mirror behind the sofa, but in fact it’s an internal window. A bespoke storage unit/wall divides the hallway and living room. It’s an unexpected device that actually works brilliantly, and gets rid of the “dark, skinny hall” problem so many homes have (scroll down to see the storage side in the hallway).“It opens up the rooms, lets light in and gives a feeling of space,” Milns explains.For the living room, they aimed for a slick, modern look. Key were warm materials, “so the room’s still cosy and nurturing”.There’s a definite sense of careful curation – the silky cushions and woven pouffe add relaxed colour and texture.
